What parents and adults should know:
- As a parent, you cannot give alcohol to your teen’s friends who are under the age of 21 under any circumstance, even in your own home, even if the teens will not be driving, even with their parent’s permission.
- You cannot buy alcohol and sell or give it to anyone under age 21.
If you break the law:
- You can face a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $4000 fine.
- Your driver’s license can be suspended.
What teens should know:
- Persons under age 21 cannot purchase, consume, or possess an alcoholic beverage.
- You cannot drive while having ANY AMOUNT of alcohol in your system.
- If you break the law you face a fine of up to $500, an Alcohol Awareness Course, community service and you could HAVE YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE SUSPENDED.
- A person under the age of 21 who presents a false, fictitious, or fake I.D. or driver’s license when purchasing beer or liquor can face a fine of up to $500, an Alcohol Awareness Course, community service and you could HAVE YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE SUSPENDED.
- Persons under the age of 21 who attempt to purchase alcohol can face a fine of up to $500, an Alcohol Awareness course, Community service and you could HAVE YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE SUSPENDED.
