Brief description: Interested participants apply and interview to participate in this leadership camp experience.  Kids are supervised from 7 am until 6 pm and are taught leadership skills, how to work with younger children and community philanthropy and service.   Youths engage their spirits, minds and bodies with fun field trips; various physical activities such as team sports, fitness classes and swimming; participate in group projects and learn about their community.  A very diverse curriculum includes leadership training, recreational sports, fitness, as well as the Arts and Humanities.

Brief description: Third Thursdays at the YMCA, poets, writers and performers are invited to express themselves at the open mic and to compete in the 3-round Olympic style poetry slam competition.  Judges are judges picked randomly from the audience who score on a scale of 0.0 – 10.0.  *Poets must follow basic guidelines including no profanity and use of appropriate material.  Competing poets must perform original work and may not use props, costumes or musical accompaniment.
